What What What

It really amazes me how much can change in a matter of weeks, days, hours, seconds. Our whole lives can be flipped upside down, with seemingly minute coincidences. This thought crosses my mind often, probably because I seem to get myself in situations that require me to think about what all has happened, let me up to the event, and what can or will happen. Maybe I over think things, but I like to think I am just taking in the broader picture, appreciating things that are, that could be, and never would. I suppose that's what life is about, being able to recognize these things so that you will know what decisions to make if you are caught in a similar situation down the road.

Maybe I think about these things because a series of crazy unexpected situations led to where I am today, to this exact moment. I can't help but to think that if one thing were different I would not be here, I don't mean here as in alive, but here in this wobbling rolling chair, in the hallway of the philosophy department at UAB, discussing the possible consequences of blogging with a professor. No, something would be different; I cannot say what, but something. I may have been dressed differently, I may have went straight home, rather than spend this time blogging, or I may have went to facebook instead. Life is so full of choices, it is seems impossible that we can go through and entire day without making one that will catastrophically effect our entire lives, and sometimes we do, but not as much as chance says we should.

Wow, that was kind of melodramatic, but hey, that's who I am. I guess I'll quit for today, I suddenly find that I have a great deal of things to think about.

Au revoir.

New New New

So I changed my blog's name..I find it more fitting. I realize that it has been more than a month since I last blogged, but I've been…preoccupied with life. It's like life was doing a "occupy sarah" (that little noise made by symbols on a drum set when people say something clever/funny.) Any who lots has changed. I'm 95% sure I will drop my education major..well more like put it off…maybe. I'll once I graduate with a degree in Spanish and French. So school is the same..aka horrible and such, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel….kind of. I move to Utah in 41 days!! It's gonna be intense! I'm so excited to break free of Alabama (not to mention reminders of the past year and a half.) So that's really all that's been up. I have a church thing all weekend next week!! :D I am PUMPED! Hahaha well I suppose I'm signing off (:
Adieu!

Utah Utah Utah

I'm sitting here in Provo, Utah...procrastinating my scripture reading, but I felt like blogging would be more therapeutic right now. I have had quite the time out here! Yesterday I went to Salt Lake City and visited temple square. There they have two visitors' centers which are VERY interesting! Oh my goodness in the North Side Visitors' Center they have the most amazing stature of Jesus surrounded by the universe. It is so amazing and uplifting just seeing it. It completely verifies my faith. They also have a video on Heavenly Father's plans for our families which is very heartwarming and everyone should see it. In the southern center there is a model of the temple that shows the inside and a missionary explains some of the things that go on in the temple and why we do them.

The days before my friend and I went on a moon light ski lift which was extremely fun, but also extremely cold! It was funny because we actually saw someone we knew from Alabama! That was pretty cool. The next night we went to a neon skate event, and we went allll out! We made t-shirts, wore glow bracelets, did crazy makeup, and put neon paint on our arms! It was great good-clean fun. While I've been out here I have also met with my National Student Exchange advisor which was so great! She is the sweetest person alive, and had been so helpful throughout my exchange process. All in all it has been a great trip and everyone should visit Utah!

Creepy Creepy Creepy

When working in retail a great deal of creepy things happen to you. If you have never worked in retail (or fast food, or people in general) you would be surprised at what people do. Aside from the creep factor retail does have its perks, such as a tremendous amount of people watching opportunities. But alas, the creep factor is still there, and with the holiday season in for swing (for retail anyway) the people and their oddities will be more and more prevalent. :/

On a good good good* note I have decided to get baptized! (Baptist family if you are reading this..I apologize that this hurts you, but it is what I want to do). I am very excited! It will be October 23. After that life can only go up and up and up! Though I know there will definitely be bumps in the road, I have an awesome family and great friends to lean on when that happens. (: I have invited almost everyone I know, except for the people I haven't told..but they will be invited. It is a frightening journey this life, but very necessary. As my grandmother says, "Earth is a classroom"…something like that anyway, you get the point. But I must sign out! Adieu!

School School School

Well school has been rather crazy! Work has not been too bad this past week, though probably because I left early one day, and had to take off two others. But that was good or else I would be going crazy over school! I cannot wait for my break next month! I really need it. You have no idea. I honestly need a break from everything.

As far as nondepressing things, I am currently watching the Republican Presidential Candidate Debate. It is super interesting! I LOVE Herman Cain! Goodness he is so great! I also really like Mitt Romney. The others are..okay, I like some of their stuff, but not Cain and Romney. As far as books go, I should finish The 5 Love Languages tomorrow. That's pretty exciting; it has been a really good read. I really need to restart on The Screwtape Letters, but I must put that off a little longer. My BOM reading is going well (: I believe I'm on page 164? Something like that. Well I think it is time for me to sign out, I leave you with a video that fits my mood.

Rain Rain Rain

So, much has happened in the past week since my last post. Most importantly is that I have purchased plane tickets to visit my boyfriend next month! Yes I am very excited indeed, those 1800 miles don't seem soooooo terrible now. (: Hmmm next, though not necessarily next in importance is that I have been rather redneck lately, I'm not sure why, but I don't think I am going to complain about it. I still have all my teeth so no worries. But in the past week I have shot guns off my back deck TWICE. Yes, moments ago I shot an AR15 off my back deck (we have lots of woods and such so no one was hurt).  It was rather exuberating. As far as my books go that I mentioned last week, I have currently put A Discovery of Witches and One Grave at a Time on hold, to focus on the others. Also I have started another book, but I only read it at work. It is Gary Chapman's The Five Love Languages. I know, I know don't judge me, it is very interesting. He really has a talent for reading people, and I am sure he has save many relationships with his advice. Also I like his writing style…but enough excuses for now. As for my BoM (shorthand for Book of Mormon), I am on page 86. Yes I realize that is not very far, but you know how it is with scripture reading, one page is like five! Okay, so no more excuses there either. **Note of randomness, The Kooks radios station on Pandora is fabulous!**
So school is…hectic! I am making a podcast and vodcast for one class; I have 25 hours of observation, a quiz, and class presentation (with accompanying 2-3 page paper) for another class; a whole bunch of stuff I do not really even understand for another class; and Spanish and French are…well Spanish and French. I did not do as well on the first exam for either class as I would have liked to (especially French), but I have plenty of time to make up for it (less than three months I just realized!!). Oh that was a day brightener. Well seeing how I have come back around to a happy note, I think I will end this post. Au revior!

Sick Sick Sick

Well day one of my blog. I was contemplating on the title when my brother walked in the house with a disgusted look on his face. When I enquired to why he was not at scouts he informed me that he was sick. Then I realized there is a lot of sickness going on right now. My brother is sick. I was sick two nights ago. I’m “love sick” for my boyfriend who is 1871 miles away (1 day and 7 hours’ worth of driving according to google maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Locust+Fork,+AL&daddr=Rexburg,+ID&hl=en&sll=37.160317,-95.712891&sspn=29.883596,75.9375&geocode=FY9jBQIdHFvW-im_teC94aKJiDFeF-StoYSbMA%3BFdCvnAIdwkpW-SmxmHqASwpUUzFzHBjS0dhJSg&vpsrc=0&mra=ls&z=5 ). And we are all slightly sick of the rain. So here I am. Sick Sick Sick. Today is officially day 8 since I have seen my boyfriend, I feel like I should revert to the countdowns we used in junior high to make our myspaces look even more awesome. But I may be able to hold off on that for a while longer. Anyway, to keep my mind off of that I am currently ready a number of books: A Discovery of Witches (again), One Grave at a Time (by Jeaniene Frost), my school books of course, The Book of Mormon, and this Friday I am going to start C. S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters. Needless to say, my brain is going to go into overload! But that is okay, because I have a “date” with my cousin tomorrow and a bachelorette party Saturday to relax my working brain. Well I think this has been a pretty successful first blog, so I am going to sign out for today. Enjoy!
